Craig hands out accolades at glittering NHS award ceremony

Craig Phillips - NHS Trust awards ceremony

Craig showed his support for Britain’s much-loved healthcare system by attending the St Helens & Knowsley Hospitals NHS Trust awards ceremony.

More than 1,000 staff from the Trust and their guests gathered at Liverpool Arena to celebrate the NHS employees' hard work and devotion.

Craig, who is well known for supporting events in his home city, was one of a number of celebrities who attended the glittering bash.

His cheeky smile and warm, charming demeanour were, as always, a hit with all the guests as he handed out the Excellence in Patient Experience Award to the hospital’s Cancer Nurse Specialists.

Craig has always been a staunch supporter of the NHS and even wrote an open letter to the Prime Minister earlier this year calling for more funds to be made available to the service.

Other stars who presented awards included Gogglebox stalwarts Leon and June, former Brookside actors Dean Sullivan and Phillip Olivier, singer Linda Nolan, former St Helens captain Paul Sculthorpe and radio DJs including Claire Simmo, Simon Ross and Scott Hughes.

Comedian Johnny Vegas also made a surprise appearance and there was a performance by legendary girl group Atomic Kitten.
