As an ambassador for Checkatrade, Craig Phillips has been chosen to represent the company in a charity football match on Saturday 25th July. Craig will be joined by a host of famous faces including the presenter Jeff Brazier, British diving legend Peter Waterfield and X-Factor winner Steve Brookstein.
The team will tread the hallowed turf of Crawley Town FC’s Checkatrade Stadium, as they take on members of the public. The excitement is already building and Craig is looking forward to taking part in the game and meeting the rest of the players. The game kicks off at 2pm and football fans from far and wide are encouraged to cheer on the teams.
The match aims to raise money for two charitable funds. The first is the Checkatrade Charity Foundation which was set up to support aid organisations and is currently raising money for Nepal in the aftermath of its recent earthquake. The second is the Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice, which provides specialist palliative care to 300 youngsters from local communities. They aim to provide the best quality of life for the children and their families and provide practical, social and spiritual support.
Kevin Byrne, Founder and CEO of Checkatrade.com said “We are delighted to be hosting this charity match – and for two such good causes. I would like to thank each of our celebrity players, who are all donating their time for free. All of the players we have lined up have been training hard for this match, so it promises to be an action packed 90 minutes!”
Adding yet another string to his bow, Craig will certainly have another experience to mention in his capacity as an after dinner and motivational speaker.
