Craig recently visited Norris Green, an underdeveloped area in Liverpool, with DIY SOS to renovate the area's youth centre, which was dilapidated and lacked resources.
The centre, which has the potential to be an excellent facility, simply required some money and effort invested in it to achieve its full potential. Craig and the team at DIY SOS were more than happy to oblige and take on the project.
Norris Green is an area of high unemployment, so as well as providing fun activities for the local kids, the centre also has a program to broaden the horizons and develop the education and employment skills of the 50 young people who regularly attend.
Craig was impressed by the centre's valuable work and was more than happy to help in any way he could.
He said, "Being from Liverpool, this particular project is close to my heart. There are projects like this all over the country and the help we can give makes a world of difference to the local kids. I know the centre will be used and enjoyed, hopefully it will help people better themselves and keep out of trouble."
DIY SOS for Children in Need will be shown on Thursday 10th November at 9pm on BBC1.
