Craig was once again the undisputed darling of the people as he stood atop a giant float at the Jersey Battle of Flowers waving to a crowd of thousands of adoring fans.
The first ever winner of Big Brother starred as Mr Battle, tasked with appearing as consort to Miss Battle, the event’s elected ceremonial figurehead, on their own custom-built vehicle.
Craig was joined by 19-year-old Chantelle Mundy, the event’s Miss Battle, and Miss Junior Battle Rachel Jones, 11, for a tour of the arena on their float.
The 43-year-old clearly enjoyed being on the podium, waving to the crowd and sporting his trademark cheeky grin, while his cohort stood resplendent in a delicate silver tiara and gorgeous jasmine dress.
The event, which took place in the second week of August, was an occasion to remember for Craig, who chirped: “It’s been brilliant – it’s totally blown my expectations out of the water. It really is so spectacular.
“The effort that everybody has made is incredible and I think that we should take this model right across Europe and show what Jersey can do.”
The Battle’s top prize was won by the Optimists Club, whose entry Eye of the Tiger used more than 130,000 flowers and featured a host of animal statues including eight tigers and two monkeys.
